The oval hinged, civil war era locket opens to reveal a lock of hair in a swirl design under a glass on one side, and a faded photograph of a person on the other. Front side of the locket is adorned with intricate black enamel engravings, on the back is hand-engraved French text “12 Octobre 1868”.

Exceptional vintage 18K yellow gold “Hidden Heart” brooch, No. 991, designed by celebrated Scandinavian jewelry designer Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe for Georg Jensen, Denmark.
The brooch features Torun’s characteristic sculptural minimalism, with a beautifully polished circular form sweeping around an open heart-shaped center. Its fluid, organic lines create a striking piece of Danish Modernist jewelry that changes visually depending on its orientation.
The reverse retains its original hinged pin fitting and is fully signed and hallmarked GEORG JENSEN / TORUN / 991 / DENMARK / 750, denoting 18K gold.
Torun was one of the most important Scandinavian jewelry designers of the 20th century and began her celebrated collaboration with Georg Jensen in 1967.

Very good vintage condition. Shows surface scratches, light scuffs and normal wear consistent with age and use, particularly to the highly polished gold surfaces. one small dent on the edge.
