Beautiful vintage 18K yellow gold shell cameo ring featuring a finely hand-carved classical female portrait in profile.
The natural shell displays an attractive warm caramel-brown ground with a creamy white raised portrait. Fine carved details can be seen throughout the woman’s hair, facial features, neck and draped clothing.
The substantial oval cameo is framed by an ornate 18K yellow gold twisted rope and openwork surround, creating an impressive dimensional presentation. The elevated setting and broad cameo face make this an elegant statement or cocktail ring.
Very good vintage condition with normal surface wear consistent with age. The cameo shows some small natural inclusions/marks and light surface wear visible under magnification. No obvious major chip or significant crack is apparent in these photographs. Gold shows typical light scratches from previous wear.
